How long do you have to hire attorney after served a Motion to Modify?

We have a temporary hearing tomorrow for motion to modify visitation. My ex has not hired an attorney. How much time does he have to hire one and what happens if he shows up tomorrow without an attorney? There is also a motion for enforcement since he is in contempt of court.
